Led by Buddy Rizer
ATIX was founded by Buddy Rizer, long-time Executive Director of Loudoun County, Virginia. Over the last 17 years, Rizer has been witness to how strategic economic development initiatives can shape the growth and resilience of a local economy and have a positive impact on a community. During his tenure in Loudoun, the commercial tax base more than doubled and the tax rate paid by homeowners was reduced by more than 41 cents. The increased revenue has been instrumental in the implementation of initiatives such as full-day kindergarten, the construction of more than a dozen new schools, the funding of critical road and infrastructure projects and the enhancement the quality of life for our citizens with new parks, trails and community centers.
Rizer is best known for his work with the data center industry, earning the nickname of "The Godfather of Data Center Alley". Over the last decade and a half, has been instrumental in creating the world's largest concentration of data centers in Northern Virginia. In addition to more than a billion dollars in local tax revenue, the data center industry has driven significant job growth, innovation, business creation and community impact. ATIX was formed after witnessing the transformational impact the data center industry can have on a community, and the belief that through smart and thoughtful development, data centers can have a similar impact in many locations around the world.
I don't know if one individual has had more impact on the success and future of Loudoun County as Buddy has. His vision, passion, energy, and the ability to "see around corners" has helped transform our County to the tech capital it is today!
